Terms of Use

Trust In Car Check is our vehicle-check service. Trust In Motors is our free UK marketplace where private and trade sellers can advertise used cars. Contact us at hello@trustincarcheck.co.uk.

Vehicle checks and guidance are for information only. Data may be incomplete, delayed or unavailable. It is not a substitute for an independent inspection, legal advice or your own checks.

A registration lookup on the seller form fills available vehicle details; it is not an inspection or a guarantee of the vehicle’s identity, condition, history or ownership. Sellers must check the returned details before submitting an advert.

Trust In Motors only displays adverts and passes on enquiries. We do not own, inspect or sell the vehicles, and any sale is between the buyer and the seller. We do not guarantee that adverts are accurate or that sellers or buyers are genuine.

Buyers should view the vehicle, check the V5C logbook and VIN, and never send money before they are satisfied that the vehicle and seller are genuine.

• You must give accurate information and keep your password secure.
• You must own the vehicle or have authority to sell it, and identify yourself accurately as a private or trade seller.
• You are responsible for your adverts and everything you post, including checking details filled by a registration lookup.
• Adverts must follow our Advert Rules.
• Do not use another person’s account or attempt to access their adverts, photos or enquiries.

Saving a draft does not publish it. Submitting for publication makes an advert active and publicly visible; it does not mean that we have inspected or approved the vehicle.

Use My Adverts to reopen and edit your drafts and active adverts, delete drafts, or remove an active advert. Keep descriptions and availability up to date and remove an advert when the vehicle is sold or withdrawn. Removing an advert is not the same as erasing all stored information.

Enquiries must be genuine and relate to the advertised vehicle. Do not send spam, abuse or scams. We may limit or block enquiries to protect users.

Your name, email and message are made available to the relevant seller and authorised administrators. Sellers read enquiries in My Adverts and can reply using their own email service. We do not guarantee a response or provide a marketplace chat or payment service.

We reserve the right to hide or remove unsuitable adverts and restrict misuse of the service where content breaks these terms or the Advert Rules, is unlawful, misleading or could harm others. A report does not automatically prove a breach; we may review the information available.

Report a suspicious advert or misuse by emailing us with the advert link and relevant details. Do not send unnecessary personal information.

Advertising on Trust In Motors is free. The marketplace does not collect a vehicle purchase payment or hold buyer deposits. Any vehicle purchase arrangements are between buyer and seller.

The Trust In Car Check registration form takes you to the vehicle-check application. Any optional paid report is separate from placing an advert; check the price and purchase information shown there before paying. These marketplace terms do not set report prices or change that checkout process.

We cannot promise that every advert is accurate, every enquiry is genuine or the website will always be available. Buyers and sellers remain responsible for their own checks and sale agreements.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing removes a consumer’s statutory rights or a trade seller’s obligations under applicable consumer law.

Our Privacy Policy explains account information, adverts, photos and buyer enquiries, including your rights.

We may update these terms when the service changes. Changes will be set out on this page and do not remove any rights you already have under applicable UK law.
